- Subroutines to extract and use sky WCS information in FITS headers.
These subroutines and the I/O and access subroutines below are in the wcssubs
tar package as well as in the libwcs.a library which comes with the wcstools tar package.
They are also used by the image display and browsing programs
SAOimage,
SAOtng, and
skycat
for translating between image and sky coordinates.
They were originally written for SAOimage
to track image pixel sky positions and display external databases in sky coordinates
translated from the cursor's position in the displayed image.
