Abstract |
This program seeks the full completion of our FAST survey of UZC (Updated Zwicky Catalog) missing redshifts of galaxies. The UZC with m_Zw < 15.5 is a significant update of the CfA redshift surveys. To date, analyses of redshift surveys based on older catalogs have relied on heterogeneous sets of galaxy coordinates and redshifts. In the UZC, we provide: (1) coordinates with better than 2" errors for all of the Zwicky catalog galaxies, (2) homogeneoulsy estimated redshifts for the majority (98%) of the data taken at the CfA (14,632 spectra) , and (3) an estimate of the remaining "blunder" rate for both the CfA redshifts and for those compiled from the litterature. For the reanalyzed CfA data we included a calibrated, uniformly determined error and an indication of the presence of emission lines in each spectrum. |
