Abstract |
We propose to use the FAST spectrograph to conduct a taxonomic survey of small bodies in our solar system. Taxonomic classification of binary asteroids will better define the densities of the different types. Observations of dormant or extinct comets will provide proxies for the study of active comet nuclei that are not directly observable due a coma of gas and dust. An emphasis will be made to observe potential spacecraft targets among the Near-Earth asteroid population. These observations will greatly impact the selection of future spacecraft targets. |
