    About Oak Ridge:
    The Oak Ridge Observatory, in Harvard, Massachusetts, operates the largest optical telescope east of Texas in the U.S. It is a facility of the Harvard College Observatory (HCO).

    Past Optical Research:
    The Wyeth 61-inch reflector is currently retired. Most recently, it carried out research on stellar radial velocities and the motions of comets and asteroids.

    Past Radio Research:
    An 84-foot steerable radio telescope is currently retired. It was used in Project BETA, a search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
