Virtual Tours of Astronomical Observatories
-
Arecibo Observatory (Puerto Rico)
A clickable map of the world's largest single dish radio telescope,
with explanatory text as well as pictures on a fast, well-connected server.

The tour page has nice pictures, but the full-size ones are huge.

Kuiper Airborne Observatory
(NASA Ames, Mountain View, CA, no longer flying)
Lots of time and money was put into this memorial to the KAO, which

are gone. I helped
discover the rings of Uranus using its telescope in 1977.
-
Lick Observatory (University of California, Santa Cruz)
LOTS of clickable pictures, four clear thumbnails per page almost make
you think you're on Mount Hamilton. You can also start from the
Lick Observatory website. There is a separate tour of
NASA Ames' Crocker Dome on Mt. Hamilton, used for
the Vulcan photmetric planet search.
-
Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff, Arizona)
John Spencer put together several walks through the observatory
navigated by mouse clicks.
