Codes and Expectations of Conduct

-Jessica Mink, 2021-03-07 (and after)

Here are some codes of conduct which already cover various members of the staff of the Center for Astrophysics. I added the AMS because I'm a member and ran into other CfA people at last year's annual meeting. There are differences between what the various institutions and professional societies emphasize and how prominently their codes of ethics appear on their web site. We started the process in 2020, and these links to resources have been updated to August 2023.

Here are some other examples we looked at:

Kavli Instute for Theoretical Physics Code of Conduct and Resources

Fermi LAT Collaboration Code of Conduct
All members of the Fermi Large Area Telescope Collaboration should actively encourage collaborative, open, and respectful interactions within the Collaboration and must discourage disrespectful or hostile interactions.

MIT Values Statement
Framed by the phrases "Excellence and Curiosity", "Openness and Respect", "Belonging and Community", it will now live on MIT's About page side by side with the Institute's mission statement.

And there is this interesting note about wording of codes of conduct which led me to re-writing our draft "Espectations of Conduct" in the first person.
