Abstract

We propose to estimate the spectral type and metallicity of galaxies that have hosted type~Ia supernovae (SNIa) using integrated spectra obtained with the FLWO 1.5m+FAST. This information will be combined with host morphology, color and global star-formation rate in a search for correlations with SNIa properties such as light curve shape, luminosity and spectral peculiarities. The results will be compared with properties of high redshift supernovae hosts (spectra soon to be obtained with large aperture telescopes) to look for systematic differences between the low and high z samples of SNIa.
