Abstract and Registration Deadlines
-----------------------------------

We remind participants that the deadline for late abstract submission (poster only) is March 27, 9 PM (ET).
Contributions must be submitted using the AAS abstract service:
http://abstracts.aas.org/abstract_pass/dda

Deadline for regular registration is also March 27. The following fees are applicable:
DDA Member:                  $350
Student and Emeritus Member: $200
Non-Member:                  $400
Accompanying Person:         $50
Banquet:                     $50

Hotel Reservation
-----------------

For those participants who will spend a few nights in Rio de Janeiro before or after the meeting, now there
is a specific form for hotel reservation available at the local webpage:
https://www.metaeventos.net/inscricoes/menus2.php?id=453

Both hotel reservation forms (in Paraty and Rio de Janeiro) should be sent before March 27. Reservations can
be requested after this date, but may not be guaranteed.

Transport to Paraty
-------------------

We remind participants to send the shuttle form with their arrival/departure information before March 27. The
LOC depends on this information to arrange the shuttle services from Rio de Janeiro Airport that best suits
most participants.

If you will arrive through São Paulo Airport, please contact the LOC for further assistance on how to get to
Paraty.

Visa Reminder
-------------

We recall that US citizens must apply for a visa to come to Brazil. Please, contact the Brazilian Consulate
nearest to your address as soon as possible.

In principle, a tourist visa (VITUR) should be enough. It may help if you show a letter of invitation like
the one we issue, but it is not mandatory. If you show the letter, the Consulate might suggest you to get a
business visa (VITEM II). For the purpose of participating in a scientific meeting, there is no practical
difference between the two types of visas and they cost the same.

Please, be aware that your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and that a return ticket is mandatory
to get a visa.

Cacellation Requests
--------------------

In view of the budget cuts suffered by government agencies due to sequestration in the US, we urge
participants that might be affected by this to inform if they will be able to attend the DDA meeting.

If this is your case, please contact the LOC as soon as possible.
