Important Dates:
  • January 15: Student Stipend Award applications due.
    Student Stipends awarded to Sean Raymond of the University of Washington and Dimitri Veras of the University of Colorado.

  • January 20: Individual hotel room reservations were due.
    It may still be possible to make room reservations in the two partner 4 star Hotels at the negotiated prices, although room availability is not guaranteed.

  • March 15: Abstract deadline [Abstract web site]
    Late abstracts will be accepted at the discretion of Phil Nicholson, Chair of Program Commmittee, and should be submitted by email to him.

  • March 15: Registration deadline. [Registration web site]
    Registration fee is $285.00 plus $30.00 per abstract. Registration includes welcome cocktail, 4 lunches, coffee breaks, excursion, and abstract book.
    It will cost an extra $30 after the deadline.
    Cancellations after April 1 will not be refunded (not a joke!).
    Earlier cancellations will be charged 20 USD.
    There will be no on-site registration.

  • April 19: DDA Committee meeting at 1600-1800, reception.

  • April 20-23: DDA meeting, Cannes. (Note: the 2004 meeting runs 4 days, not 3.)

Transportation:

 From the Croisette Beach hotel, we received the following regarding getting to and from the Nice airport:
  • By TAXI (around €75 / person)

  • By direct public BUS (Nice-Cannes by highway every 30 minutes ) which leaves you at the city hall of Cannes, on the harbour. From there, it takes about 10- 15 minutes walking along the Croisette to reach the hotels (next street after the Carlton Hotel, perpendicular to the Croisette. ( around €13 / person )

  • Be also informed that the Croisette Beach Hotel can organise your transfer by private vehicle with a driver expecting you at your arrival with names on a board. It is important, in that case, to communicate to Agnes HENNET ( on the reservation form by fax return or by email to : croisettebea@aws.fr ) your date and schedules of arrival (and departure), with the number and company of your flight as she will arrange shuttle for people arriving in the same times to benefit of the following rates:
    Vehicle until 3 people: around €24 / person ( €72 / transfer )
    Vehicle until 6 people: around €17,50 / person ( €105 / transfer )
